Dublin Hammers Christmas Party 2025
The Dublin Hammers Christmas Party - Saturday 6th December 2025
It’s that time of year again and even though West Ham are doing their utmost to ruin the festive season and create a grey and gloomy cloud over us all – we still managed to rise to the occasion and have a cracking DH Christmas Party.
I was early in so picked our seats carefully and watched as the DJ set up, spot prizes were dropped off and welcomes dished out by all attendees. As ever the lads took their good clobber out of the wardrobe (including Craig with his “trendy” T Shirt) and the better halves looked stunning.
Liamo got the organisation under way as he dispatched Emma to sell raffle tickets along with Gerry “I’ll do it if nobody else will” Nolan. Once the tickets were sold – there was a slight delay as young Craig McDonagh who has been at every Christmas Party for the last 20 years “forgot” to buy his raffle tickets – it was time for Liamo to do his MC duties.

Liamo welcomed us all to the party and especially Collie and his better half, Eileen from the wee north along with Hannah and Blair from the USA. He also told us about a special event planned for next May 2026 that we’re organising – more details will follow.
Then it was time for the raffle. As ever this is comical watching Liamo lose his patience with the various winners as they peruse the extensive range of cheap wine etc. The first three winners on the night were each given a brand new Chadwicks holdall along with whatever “prize” they took. This bag came in very handy for Nora who must have bought most of the tickets on sale! Liamo’s “helper” this year was Brian Madden who managed to drop the bag of tickets. This prompted me to contact my old work colleagues in KPMG to initiate an investigation of the whole “raffle event”.

Anyway a number of people got lucky on the night and managed to win a few prizes except our table (Emma you’re a Jonah!!). The signed photo of Ludo Miklosko was snapped up quickly along with the West Ham wall tile. I did manage to win a bottle of gin wrapped up with 4 bog rolls! Collie and Eileen will have to smuggle their winnings over the border somehow. Pat and Nora contacted a courier company to bring home their winnings in a very stuffed Chadwick’s bag.
The food was delivered and we all tucked in as the DJ played some tunes.
Then the karaoke started and first up was Gerry with 'Little Old Wine Drinker Me'. He was followed by Dessie and then Hugh (we’re all invited to the wedding) with 'Give A Little Respect' followed by Liamo’s Raffle Assistant (a once off me thinks), Brian Madden.

It was important to get your song in before the professional, Gary Dixon did his stint with 'Come up and See Me', Oasis 'Supersonic' (including parka jacket and beanie hat) and 'All of the Day and All of the Night' – and none of us got stung for €500 for the Oasis tribute!
The night took a nosedive as Gerry Nolan and Coventry Tom murdered 'Don’t Go Breaking My Heart'. Thankfully they were followed by Hannah and Blair’s rendition of 'Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing' (accompanied by plenty of lighters). Craig gave us 'Angels' while Fran the DJ sang 'Ain’t That a Kick in The Head'.
Gary came back (as requested) and sang 'Friday I’m in Love' and 'Sweet Caroline'. Then it was time to finish the singing as Liamo gave us 'Billy' along with the obligatory tissues being scattered. Tom Jones couldn’t attend – now That was Unusual!

Then the DJ took over as we all spilled onto the floor to get some serious dancing done – I’d say there were any number of sore limbs on the Sunday such was the smooth moves from all involved.
The night whizzed by and finally the DJ blasted out 'Bubbles' as we sang along with gusto.
Another great Christmas party to reminisce about for years to come. A big thank you to everyone involved with the organisation and a very Happy Christmas to all our members!
