West Ham qualify for the Europa League after Manchester Utd win the FA Cup.
And so ends a great seaon!
SEASON SUMMARY
Well what a season, such a contrast to what we've been subjected to in recent seasons under big sam. A new manager in Bilic who embraced the 'west ham way', got us playing great football and in the signing of Payet gave us a new hero!
With the move to the Olympic Stadium next season we had to stay up, but we did more than stay up, qualifying for the Europa league and but for some poor decision making by the officials during April and May it could have been even better.
Having watched most of our games this season, I have to say it has been a real pleasure, we scored a hatful of great goals, and even when we started slowly going one or two goals down, I always felt we had the quality to come back into the game and on a number of occasions we did just that, notably Everton away when we scored three times in the last 10 minutes to win.
We enjoyed a good FA Cup run which ended with a disappointing home defeat against Manchester Utd. when we were denied in the last minutes up at Old Trafford (see poor refereeing decisions!).
Highlights included winning away at Liverpool (after 53 years!), Arsenal and Manchester City and then we come to that last game at Upton Park against Manchester Utd, coming from a goal down to win... a wonderful game, played in a wonderful atmosphere... a fitting goodbye to the Boleyn ground.
Now we can look forward to the new season, in our new home... COYIs.
