SEASON SUMMARY

A poor season! Started with the failure to sign a replacement for Andy Carroll who was injured for the first half of the season. BFS spent the last of the transfer fund on Stuart Downing (a disappointing choice). This put us on the back foot as we dropped down the table. Fat Sams one dimensional tactics were well and truely exposed as we had no striker, what is the point of putting 40 crosses into the box, if we had no one there to finish? Carlton Cole was let go, then resigned in desperation.

Lowest point of the season had to be the 5-0 away defeat to Forest. BFS played a weakened team, full of youngsters. he played them in a new formation and was then filmed laughing from the bench as the younsgters struggled. It was as if BFS was saying I told you so to all those who were pushing for a change by playing some of the youth players. It was a this point that I turned and joined the growing ranks of the BFS Out crew! A few days later we were exposed again by Man City in the Capital one Cup Semi Final, a poor showing that lacked guts and desire! The pressure was mounting on Fat Sam.

February was a make or break month, and we went on to win 4 games in a row... quite how we did this I'm not sure, but it involved huge slices of luck. BFS went on to win the Manager of the Month award which left a bad taste in the mouth.

That run pretty much saved us from relegation as the season came to a close.

I have to say watching the Hammers this season has been truely dreadful, one of the worst seasons I've seen and I feel it's all down to the BFS hit and hope tactics. The only light on a gloomy season were the 3 wins against Tottenham! That away cup win on a rainy night in December, coming back from 1-0 down was a truely great West Ham moment!
